#10 Arizona routs Colorado in PAC-12 play. Prospect Overview

By: Nicolas Rioja

As the old saying goes, good teams don’t lose two in a row. #10 Arizona proved that correct on Thursday night; the Wildcats were unrecognizable from their blowout loss to Stanford just days prior, dominating a good Colorado team from start to finish en route to a 97-60 win.

Arizona showed the complete package, getting to the rim at ease and stifling the Colorado offense on the other end. The list of national title contenders isn’t long, and it includes Arizona.

Team Stats of the Game:

REBOUNDS: AZ 45, COLO 25

FAST BRK PTS: AZ 24, COLO 6

PTS IN PAINT: AZ 58, COLO 30

Standouts:

F Pelle Larsson

20 PTS | 8/12 FG | 2/2 3PT | 7 REB

Pelle Larsson has been overlooked on draft boards, but the 6’6” Swede showed what he is capable of against the Buffs. Larsson’s biggest strength is the pressure he puts on opposing defenses. He is always quick to get out on the break, finding open lanes to finish in transition. In the half court Larsson stays active, running on ball screen and off-ball actions constantly. The senior also boasts efficiency, posting a 56% mark on FGs for the season, and 53% on threes (though in a limited sample, 14-26). The senior deserves to be in the draft conversation for the versatility he brings to the court.

G Kylan Boswell

14 PTS | 5/10 FG | 4/7 3PT | 4 AST

Kylan Boswell is one of the more entertaining guards in college hoops. But beyond the highlights, Boswell’s command of the Arizona offense is what jumps out most. Boswell shows an advanced feel for the game, leading the Wildcats in assists (4.1). The 6’2” sophomore has two way guard potential, shooting 42% from 3 on high volume, while also having a very strong base and good instincts for the defensive end. Kylan Boswell is a good name to keep an eye on in the late 1st/early 2nd round as we move forward in conference play.
